Purpose
Midway through my time on my high-school robotics team, a mentor I worked closely with suggested that I documented the work I’d done for the team and in general. In that spirit, for most projects I’ve tried to write up and highlight my inspiration, design choices, prototyping, and anything that demonstrates the skills and mindsets important to engineering yet not apparent in a final product. By doing that, I hope to provide good evidence of my merit to employers, schools, and scholarship donors.
Types of Project
As of the time I write this, I’m interested in mechanical design, the process of prototyping, and various of methods of fabrication like machining or welding. What projects I take on and put in this portfolio will most likely reflect that, but in general they will be whatever I’ve done that demonstrates skills important to me.
Portfolio Upkeep and Backlog
Most of the time, I’ll have a couple projects planned or in progress. These are going on at the same time as school, work, and personal responsibilities so there are times that this portfolio is dormant. This probably means I’m busy and can’t find the time to write, but very likely will also have a backlog of documentations that will be worked on when I find time.
